“I didn’t learn art in a classroom—I learned it in silence, in emotion, in the spaces where words couldn’t reach.”
Gisella Garcia

About the Artist:
I began drawing as a child—not with fancy supplies or formal lessons, but with whatever I could find. Art became my way of coping with the world around me. I’m self-taught, guided by instinct and emotion, and inspired by hours spent watching Bob Ross paint serenity into every canvas. I didn’t have paint back then, so I drew. And I never stopped.
As an adult, I finally picked up a brush—and it felt like rediscovering a long-lost gift. Painting gave me peace. It quieted my thoughts, calmed my anxiety, and helped me express what words couldn’t. The lines, the waves, the blending of colors—they became my language. My art is deeply personal, shaped by emotion and imagination, and rooted in the belief that creativity can heal.
I also began journaling as a way to explore my feelings and support my mental health. That journey inspired me to create guided journals and adult coloring books—for men, women, and children navigating life’s many stages. I wasn’t taught how to express myself growing up, but my loving husband helped me see that feelings are valid and sharing them is powerful. His support has been a blessing to my growth.
Mindful Expressions Art is more than a website—it’s a reflection of my heart. Every piece you’ll find here was made by me, with intention and care. My hope is that my art, books, and journals help others open up, reflect, and reconnect with themselves. Whether you’re young or old, it’s never too early—or too late—to learn how to feel.
"If I can make a difference in even one person’s life through my creations, that will be my legacy."
Gisella Garcia
As an Author:
In addition to painting, I write guided journals for adolescents and adults, as well as children’s books that reflect the same heart-centered values found in my art—resilience, emotional clarity, and self-expression. My writing journey began with personal journaling, a quiet space where I could explore my thoughts and feelings. That practice inspired me to create tools for others—journals and coloring books designed to support mental wellness at every stage of life.
I’m currently expanding my children’s offerings to include coloring books that encourage emotional learning through art and play. These books help kids explore their feelings in a gentle, creative way—giving them space to express, imagine, and grow. I believe that when children are taught early on that their emotions are valid and important, it shapes how they connect, communicate, and thrive as adults.
Whether through brushstrokes or words, my goal is the same: to help others feel, heal, and grow.
